PROVIDENCE HEALTH & SERVICES

Providence Health & Services is a healthcare provider comprised of 51 hospitals, 1,085 clinics, and 119,000 caregivers across five western states. The Portland office oversees eight hospitals containing 24,000 employees. Providence's mission is to help the poor and vulnerable through an expression of God's healing love.

DIGITAL MARKETING

OBJECTIVE

Optimize Providence's communication with employees, and increase awareness concerning company news and events. Ensuring that employees felt valued was the priority of the digital marketing campaigns.

ROLE

As a internal communications intern, I was in charge of running the Providence social media platform, "In Our Circle." As a mobile app, my daily posts were seen by roughly 22,000 employees. I also conducted google analytic sessions, and categorized/documented articles from the past five years in order to gain intel and tighten our public relations strategy.

RESULTS

  • 22,000 employees viewed my articles 

  • 2,500 employees used the In Our Circle platform 

  • Analyzed 5 years worth of website data to create an updated website strategy

EMPLOYEE OUTREACH

OBJECTIVE

Enhance internal employee knowledge and awareness on unique programs, events , and news occurring within Oregon region hospitals through intranet articles.

ROLE

I wrote roughly 50 articles for the Providence internal intranet site. These articles included event announcements, notifications of news coverage, and People of Providence stories. My most fulfilling article project consisted of a series on trauma-related care at Providence hospitals. I interviewed caregivers to learn more about expectant mothers struggling with substance abuse, eating disorder recovery, and a trailblazing AIDS treatment clinic.

RESULTS

My articles were seen by an audience of 22,000 Providence employees across the Oregon region. In total, my articles amassed roughly 45,000 views and generated interaction between employees from different hospitals.
